Patrick McManamon, OD
As Medical Director of MOA – Plymouth Meeting Patrick McManamon OD, brings a dedication to leading edge medical eye care with a specialization in dry eye disease and contact lens treatments.
Most recently, Dr. McManamon served as the Director of Dry Eye and Specialty Contact Lens at one of the largest ophthalmology practices in southeastern Pennsylvania. He played a lead role in managing pre- and post-operative care for complex corneal and refractive surgery patients including LASIK, ICL, and PRK. His expertise in cataract co-management led him to be the first OD in Pennsylvania and one of the first three in the country to do adjustments for Light Adjustable Lenses (LAL).
With a strong commitment to inspire and educate the next generation of eye care professionals, Dr. McManamon has prioritized the teaching and training of optometrists. He has served in multiple roles for Salus University including Clinical Instructor, Residency Supervisor, and Lecturer for the Advanced Studies in Anterior Segment.
Dr. McManamon graduated from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now Salus University) where he also completed his residency in cornea and contact lenses. He is a member of the American
Optometric Association and American Academy of Optometry where he is currently a candidate for his fellowship. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.
Throughout his career, Dr. McManamon has contributed to advancing the understanding and treatment of eye diseases and conditions by authoring numerous articles and lecturing on a regional and national level on subjects including cornea treatments, scleral lenses, cataract and glaucoma surgery.
