Stephen Shalamanda, OD
Dr. Stephen Shalamanda provides comprehensive eye care at Wyomissing Optometric Center in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Specializing the diagnosis and management of ocular surface disease and low vision rehabilitation, Dr. Shalamanda is dedicated to helping patients maximize their vision and maintain independence in daily life.
A Certified Light Adjustment Specialist for Light Adjustable Lenses (LALs) at VisionLOCK, Dr. Shalamanda is also an experienced surgical co-manager. He believes in the importance of collaboration and a holistic approach to treating patients that considers overall health along with ocular health. He is also enthusiastic about the positive results patients experience with LALs. “I love helping LALs patients with their post-operative care because they “see” results that truly change their lives, allow them to be in the driver seat, and truly customize their vision,” he shares. “Vision impacts everything we do on a day-to-day basis.”
Dr. Shalamanda earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Penn State University before earning his Doctor of Optometry at Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, where he was recognized for outstanding clinical performance. During his education, Dr. Shalamanda completed a variety of internships, including a rotation at The Eye Institute: William Feinbloom Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia, where he earned distinction for excellence in Low Vision Rehabilitation. He is a member of both the Golden Key Honor Society and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Active in the optometric community, Dr. Shalamanda is a member of the Berks County Optometric Society and the American Optometric Association.
