Edmund Swan
Edmund Swan, O.D. is the owner/operator of Swan Vision Optometry in Rocky Hill, CT where he provides comprehensive primary eye care including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of glaucoma, ocular surface disease, and dry eye. He is also an experienced co-manager of pre- and post-operative cataract and Lasik surgery.
As a Certified Light Adjustment Specialist for Light Adjustable Lenses (LALs) at VisionLock, Dr. Swan appreciates the opportunities for refinement that LALs offer and finds it rewarding to witness the impact of restored and enhanced vision. “It allows me to help people take advantage of new technological advances that provide patients with the ability to achieve the best possible vision for their lifestyle,” he says. As part of a collaborative surgical team, Dr. Swan believes the collective commitment to a patient’s well-being is a shared responsibility for achieving the best possible outcomes.
Born in British Columbia, Canada, Dr. Swan attended Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, where he earned a BS in Life Sciences and swam on the Varsity Swim Team. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry at New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, where he was Class President, took two volunteer trips to Belize to provide eye care to local communities, and was an anatomy teaching assistant.
Four externships provided Dr. Swan with extensive clinical experience including a stint at Eye Centers of South Florida’s Ophthalmology practice where he worked alongside ophthalmologists, including retinal and corneal/glaucoma specialists, and began his training as a surgical co-manager or pre- and post-operative cataract care.
As an owner/operator of a primary eye care practice, Dr. Swan is committed to his community and providing patients with first-class optometric care. He shares, “I believe that every patient deserves exceptional, personalized care that prioritizes their individual needs, comfort, and well-being.”
