Dr. Kevin Rice is an experienced optometrist at The Vision Clinic in Springfield, MO, where he’s practiced comprehensive eye care for almost a decade. Committed to providing exceptional medical eyecare through early detection, advanced treatments, and the highest standard of care for lifelong vision health, Dr, Rice specializes in primary eye care, specialty contact lens fitting, and ocular surface disease. He also has extensive experience in perioperative care.
A Certified Light Adjustment Specialist for Light Adjustable Lenses (LALs) with VisionLOCK, Dr. Rice is proud of his role in the full circle of care for LALs. His approach to surgical collaboration prioritizes mutual respect, open communication, and patient-centered care. As an optometrist who believes in staying at the leading edge of innovation, Dr. Rice finds working with LALs to be particularly impactful. “I love helping LAL patients fine-tune their vision after surgery,” he says. “It’s incredibly rewarding to work together to achieve the clearest, most personalized vision possible for their lifestyle.”
Dr. Rice earned his BS in biology at University of Arkansas and his Doctor of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry. During his education, he was awarded the SCO Dr. William R. Jackson, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship, the Dr. Fred Mothershed, O.D. Endowed Scholarship, the Europa Rising Star Award, the Missouri Optometric Association Auxiliary Scholarship, and was a Beta Sigma Kappa Inductee.
Previously recognized in the “Who’s Who of Optometry,” Dr. Rice stays active in his local and professional communities. He is a current member and former Vice President and President of the Greater Ozarks Optometric Society, a member of the Missouri Optometric Association, and a member of the American Optometric Association, where he’s been a Federal Advocacy Representative for the state of Missouri since 2022.
