Peter Chudolij, OD

Peter Chudolij, O.D. is a residency-trained optometrist providing comprehensive eye care including management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, myopia control, and ocular emergencies at Focus Eye Care in Hackensack, NJ. A contact lens fitting expert, he is also adept with specialty lenses for the treatment of severe surface disease and corneal ecstasia. During his residency in ocular disease at Omni Eye Services he gained additional experience and extensive training in corneal, cataract, glaucoma, and retinal pre-and postoperative care.

As an experienced surgical co-manager and a physician committed to utilizing cutting-edge technology, Dr. Chudolij is a Certified Light Adjustment Specialist for Light Adjustable Lenses (LALs) at VisionLOCK. He strongly believes in the importance of ensuring seamless patient-centered care with thorough preoperative preparation and postoperative management to streamline the process for surgeons and patients. “I love helping LAL patients because it allows me to provide truly personalized visual outcomes,” he shares. “Guiding patients through this process and witnessing their excitement as their vision is optimized is incredibly rewarding.”

An honors graduate of Rutgers University, Dr. Chudolij also graduated magna cum laude from Salus University, where he earned his Doctor of Optometry and completed externship rotations at The Eye Institute, Vision Eye Physicians and Surgeons, White River Junction VA Medical Center, and Corneal Associates of NJ. During his residency at Omni Eye Services, he diagnosed, treated, and managed ocular diseases while working alongside subspecialty ophthalmologists in the areas of retina/vitreous, cataract/glaucoma, oculoplastics, cornea/refractive, neuro-ophthalmology, and pediatric and adult strabismus.
Dr. Chudolij is published in Modern Optometry magazine and is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the NJ Society of Optometric Physicians (NJSOP). Outside of optometry, he serves a board member of the Ukrainian American Youth Association and speaks both English and Ukrainian.
